As a Jungian Analyst, I meet and work with clients on two levels. The first is the everyday, outer life which is often full of difficult situations and challenges that need to be addressed or sorted out. The second level is the unconscious, inner life which is full of dreams, patterns and energies which shape our attitudes, our relationships and our approach to life itself. Together, as we explore and integrate both the outer and inner lives in the therapeutic setting, healing, integration and transformation can begin to take place.
My approach is a combination of classical talk therapy combined with body-mind awareness and dream analysis. Painting and drawing, clay work and active imagination are sometimes explored if those creative approaches are of interest, seem appropriate or are useful.
After careers in law and education, I served on the Board of Directors of the Washington Society for Jungian Psychology and then founded and served as President of the Mid-Hudson Jung Society in New York State. In 1995 I moved to Switzerland to complete my training in analytical psychology at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zürich. After moving to Dublin, Ireland I maintained a full psychoanalytic practice for 7 years and lectured at Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin and at various North Eastern Health Board Hospitals. I taught Jungian and Freudian Psychology courses, as well as Developmental Psychology, Object Relations and a course for psychiatrists entitled Integrating Psychiatry and Psychology. It was my honor to serve as the Chair of the Irish Analytical Psychology Association and give regular private seminars on Jungian Dream Analysis and The Use of Painting and Drawing in the Analytical Setting. In 2006 I moved back home to Washington, DC where I had begun my discovery of Jungian Psychology more than 25 years ago. Currently, I am a full member of IAAP (the International Association of Analytical Psychology), NAAP (the National Association for the Advancement of Analytical Psychology) and WAJA (the Washington Association of Jungian Analysts).
