Psychotherapist
The decision to seek therapy is often a difficult step, but it is also the first step towards positive change. I seek to help individuals by creating a safe, supportive environment in which it is possible to gain insight into what is holding one back. Once we allow ourselves to feel authentically, we come to know and understand ourselves in a more genuine way. Anxiety and depression are often clues that we are holding something deep inside us that needs to be understood. I believe that every person has the capacity for emotional growth and the ability to create a fulfilling life. While my practice is guided by psychodynamic principles, I am also trained in cognitive behavioral therapy and family systems therapy, and I am therefore able to utilize the approach that best serves my client.
I am a member of the Greater Washington Society of Clinical Workers, and the National Association of Social Workers. My post-graduate training includes advanced studies in psychonanalytic psychotherapy at the Washington School of Psychiatry.
